Boatyard

We do have, from time to time, current boat owners, who are looking to sell their boats, please contact the office and we can take all the details.

Alternatively, if you have a boat and would like to berth it at our club, please contact the office.

We will need a current photo of the boat, size, engine and ????

Your boat will need ????

The boats are launched off the beach, so your boat needs beach keels to keep the hull clear of the stones. Most boats in the club have wooden keels about 2 inches deep with a stainless steel band. The other factor to consider is weight, as we have to drag the boats about in the yard. The dory style hull such as the Wilson Flyer 17 and 20 footers are popular as you get a good deck area and stable platform at anchor. A word of caution when buying a boat is to check the thickness of the hull. Some manufactuer’s have tried to cut costs with a thinner layup, not good if you slam the boat in to the beach coming ashore.

Make sure you are feeling fit when going fishing, you will need to assist the boatmen to get your boat out of the berth and down to the beach; we do have winches which will do most of the work, but many hands make light work! The same goes for bringing the boat back from the sea to the berth, so save some energy after all that great fishing!

Workshops

We have a couple of workshops, which can be booked and a small fee is payable ,Rental of the workshop is free for the first week then £25.00 per week after. Please contact the Commodore to make arrangements.

Lockers

We have 3 areas for lockers, at this moment in time, we only have single lockers available. These will store fishing rods, kit, etc. Do Not Store flammable liquids, flares ????
